Nick Lachey has excitedly spoken about his plans for when wife Vanessa Minnillo gives birth.
The couple announced yesterday that they are expecting their first baby and the singer turned TV personality could not be more thrilled.
Nick gave more details during his guest hosting spot on Live! With Kelly today and revealed what the plan of action will be.
“I’ve been told – because that’s what happens now, I’m told things – that it’s going to be a waist-up situation, if you know what I mean,” the 38-year-old said coyly.
“I’m gonna be there, I’m gonna be supportively there, holding hands, and coaching, breathing, all that good stuff.
“But apparently I won’t be down below, seeing what’s happening. I’ll be up above, helping.
“My work there is done. I was successful there. So we’ll keep it waist-up.”
Vanessa, 31, had taken to her Twitter page to gush about her happy announcement.
“Finally, Nick and I are ready to share our news,” she wrote. “We have been blessed with a little Angel! We can’t wait to meet Baby Lachey!!!”
The couple started dating in 2006 and tied the knot in a romantic ceremony on Richard Branson’s Necker Island last July.
