Blur bassist, Alex James, has revealed that the band will play a brand new track when they headlining the Olympic Closing Ceremony Celebration Concert due to take place in London.

Speaking to Jeremy Clarkson on Top Gear the cheese lover said the new track sounds 'like a hymn' and will have fans in tears.

The Britpop legends are due to play Hyde Park with The Specials and New Order on August 12 for the close.

Its "like a hymn, a real tear-jerker" James said.

Having just won the Outstanding Contribution To Music award at The Brits he added "It was utterly magnificent to get back together and smash those songs out again."

When questioned on a potential new album he denied there was anything in progress.
