Robin Thicke has been arrested on a marijuana possession charge today.
The 34-year-old R&B singer, who is married to actress Paula Patton, was spotted smoking a joint by Manhattan police officers in New York City today.
The New York Daily News reports that Robin was sitting in his black Cadillac Escalade SUV in Manhattan near Madison Square Park when the incident occurred.
“He wasn’t driving,” a source told the newspaper. “He was sitting in the car. He was arrested and a small amount of marijuana was recovered on him.”
Nearly 30 minutes past noon, Robin was taken into custody. The singer was amiable with police officials.
“He was taking pictures with the cops,” the source continued. “They were coming over to him and getting autographs.”
Robin was charged with misdemeanour possession of marijuana. He was then given a desk appearance ticket and released from custody.
Robin’s wife Paula is rumoured to be pregnant with the couple’s second child together.
The singer’s fifth album Love After War was released in December.
