This unique competition is an exciting platform for aspiring and talented young singer songwriters, giving children aged 6-18 years the opportunity to have their songs heard by industry professionals, and the chance to release their own single. With fantastic prizes and exposure, it’s set to be the best yet.

This year’s star studded panel of judges includes international recording artist Rumer, Jamie Theakston of Heart FM, Editor of First News Nicky Cox, Barry Mason, one of the world’s leading songwriters, Rob Davies, one of the most successful professional songwriters in Britain, CEO of Youth Music Christina Coker, high-profile conductor Charles Hazlewood and MP Ed Vaizey.

The winner of this year’s competition will win an exclusive chance to record their winning song at a London studio, releasing their own single. Other prizes include a ‘money can’t buy prize’, from TalkTalk, the official sponsor of The X Factor, with winners being able to choose from being special guests at the VIP celebrity launch, meeting the four finalists back stage at a secret gig, or a VIP family ticket to the final at Wembley Arena, along with a Roland Keyboard and songwriting software.

Song entries can range from lyrics with a sung melody to lyrics with a sung melody and accompaniment/music. The accompaniment/music must be masterminded by the entrant/s, however can be played by family or friends. The vocal line must be sung by the entrant/s. There will be a special award for school entries. Writing a class song will make an engaging, entertaining and collaborative project for Heads of Music and Heads of English. This competition will be separately judged for 6-11 years olds and 12-18 year olds.
