Gavin Rossdale says there isn’t a “better opponent” than Roger Federer when it comes to tennis.

The British star is known as the lead singer and rhythm guitarist of rock band Bush. Aside from his music career, Gavin loves spending his free time indulging in a spot of tennis playing.

The 46-year-old appreciates playing with world-class tennis star Roger.

“There are a few things that I do well but tennis is one of them,” he told Kerrang! magazine. “I play in the mornings and I love it. The most famous person I’ve played with is [six time Wimbledon champion] Roger Federer. I suppose you don’t really get a better opponent than that.”

Gavin has two sons with his singer wife Gwen Stefani, Kingston, five, and three-year-old Zuma. Since the success of Bush and having a family, the star admits he has become more caring and “less selfish”.

Gavin also referred to himself being slightly late for the interview.

“Imagine how late I would have been in those days,” he laughed.
