Usher “presented” his good friend Rico Love with a Grammy for his birthday.

The singer threw a party for friend and songwriter Rico during Art Basel in Miami over the weekend.

Usher, along with Mary J. Blige and restaurateur David Manero, hosted a 29th birthday dinner at Italian eatery Vic & Angelo’s.

Midway through the meal Usher climbed on top of a white leather banquette to present the birthday boy with his very special gift.

“What do you buy or give someone that can buy or give himself anything?” Usher said according to the New York Post. “So, I wanted to be the first person to present him with something out of the ordinary.”

The star then reached in to a black leather bag and pulled out the Grammy Award for his song There Goes My Baby.

Rico co-wrote the song with James Scheffer, Frank Romano, Danny Morris for Usher back in 2010.

He was thrilled to receive the iconic gift.

Usher is not short of awards. So far the 33-year-old has won seven Grammys, four World Music Awards, six American Music Awards, nine Soul Train Music Awards and an incredible 22 Billboard Music Awards.

Other friends at the party included model and actress Gabrielle Union, and basketball players Chris Bosh and Juwan Howard.
