The Who's Bush Hall Quadrophenia playback streamed today

To celebrate the release of Quadrophenia: The Director’s Cut deluxe edition released today, fans of The Who will be able to watch an hour long video edit featuring last Wednesday’s exclusive Quadrophenia playback recorded in Shepherd’s Bush.

The one-off event saw Pete Townshend entertain 200 select guests that included singer Roger Daltrey with a rare twenty-minute acoustic set. This followed a glorious 5.1 Quadrophonic playback of ‘The Rock’ and ‘Love Reign O’er Me’ and an hour-long question and answer session that became a roller-coaster ride through the history of the work, where The Who’s songwriter shared his thoughts and feelings on the album, stating that it was, in his mind and heart, “the last great Who album”, after 'Tommy' and 'Who's Next'.

Pete Townshend then played four songs on acoustic guitar - 'I'm One' and 'Drowned' from Quadrophenia, 'Acid Queen' from Tommy and the blues classic 'Corrina, Corrina', which he has recently recorded in aid of Amnesty International.
