Heavy D to be laid to rest in New York

Rapper Heavy D will be laid to rest back home in New York after passing away on Tuesday at the age of 44.

Dwight Arrington Myer (aka Heavy D) was born in New York. His funeral service will be this Friday (November 18, 2011) at the Grace Baptist Church of Mount Vernon.

There will also be a public viewing of his body in New York on Thursday.

The funeral will be a private service. Many of his friends including Diddy, Mary J. Blige and Eddie F and G-Whizz from Heavy D and the Boyz are expected to attend the service.

An autopsy into the cause of Heavy D’s death has been completed and results are expected to be released soon.

Heavy D had just returned from the shopping when he collapsed while entering his home in Beverly Hills. His cousin Ruddy Phillips said that he had been suffering from pneumonia and had visited a doctor on Monday. Neighbours who were at the scene just after Heavy D. collapsed have told the media of a suspected heart attack.
