(Cover) - EN Movies - Olivia Harrison says Martin Scorsese was the “only person” who could “capture the essence” of her late husband George.

Olivia and Martin have collaborated on a documentary on the late Beatle, titled George Harrison: Living in the Material World.

The film follows the guitarist’s life from his humble childhood in the city of Liverpool, England.

Olivia was proud to have the iconic film director on board.

“It’s an entire life. I think Scorsese was the only person who could capture the essence of George,” she explained in an interview with BBC Breakfast.

Olivia acted as co-producer on the movie.

She drew on personal moments with her husband to create the insightful documentary.

“I was involved from the beginning,” she said.

“[George] had such an extensive archive; it was something I wanted to do.”

Olivia first decided to collaborate with Martin after seeing his No Direction Home documentary about Bob Dylan.

The 63-year-old had faith in his ability to create a very honest account.

“It was Martin’s film and you need to show a contrast,” she said.

“It was a good balance. It’s a beautiful account of a man’s life who happened to pass through The Beatles.”
