Thin Lizzy have announced that Damon Johnson will be the new guitarist for the group. Johnson was brought on last summer to replace Vivian Campbell for the group's American tour and has now been made a permanent member of the group.
Group member Scott Graham said "He has been kicking ass every night and asking him to join was a no-brainer."


Danzig was left with time for only two songs at the Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin, TX last weekend after the group took the stage 45 minutes late. After opening with two Misfits songs, the show hit the curfew and the plug was pulled.
While the group blamed the organizers, the festival people posted a long statement on Facebook pointing out the long list of demands that Glenn Danzig had during the day. You can see the text of the statement at the Austin360 blog.


Don Williams was honored on Sunday night with ASCAP's Golden Note Award saluting his long career. Dierks Bentley said during the special presentation "Don Williams was the first country cassette I ever had. I actually wanted a Hank Williams cassette, and my mom got Don. The writing is very unique. He has his own sound and his own style and his own way of saying things, his own form of poetry, really. There’s just a gentleness to his voice and his delivery and honesty to it. It’s just unique to him that no one else can copy."


Doctors forced Janet Jackson to cancel her rescheduled show at the Sydney Opera House on Sunday. A statement from the promoter said "Doctors have ordered Miss Jackson to undertake vocal rest for the next 2 days, so she can complete the 3rd and final show of her Australian tour, this Tuesday night at the Sydney Opera House."


It is being reported that Paul Weller, former frontman for the Jam, and wife Hannah Andrews are expecting twins. They will be Weller's sixth and seventh children.


David Rea, who built his considerable reputation playing with such Canadian folk greats as Gordon Lightfoot and Ian & Sylvia, passed away on October 17 although it was just announced last week. He was 65.
Rea appeared on Gordon Lightfoot's debut album along with a number by the folk duo. He also worked with Richie Havens, Mississippi John Hurt and Son House. Later, he recorded solo albums and wrote the rock standard Mississippi Queen. It is also thought that he is the subject of Joni Mitchell's song Play Little David.
