A 1965 contract for the Beatles to play at the Cow Palace in Daly City, CA will be auctioned off on September 20 in Los Angeles. The contents of the contract show that the Fab Four had an anti-segregation clause included as a stipulation to playing. They had made their stance known in 1964 when they refused to play a segregated concert in Jacksonville, FL.


Mick Jagger has told Britain's The Sun "don't hold your breath" for a Rolling Stones anniversary tour and certainly don't expect them to play at the 2012 Olympics in London.


According to Showbiz 411, Whitney Houston is now confirmed to play the part of the mother in the remake of the 1976 film Sparkle. Jordin Sparks will have the title role and they will be reusing the original music by Curtis Mayfield.
Target has announced that they will be selling a deluxe edition of the Tony Bennett album Duets II when it is released on September 20. The bonus duets are They Can't Take That Away From Me with Brad Paisley and When You Wish Upon a Star with Jackie Evancho.


The Mello-Kings (Tonite, Tonite) have been reformed by original member Jerry Scholl along with Mick Mansueto, Joe Magnetico and Tony Casilli. They will be performing at the All Star Doo-Wop Weekend on Long Island before going out on the road.


George Strait extended his lead as the artist with the most number ones on the Country Albums chart with Here For a Good Time. He's now reached the top 25 times with Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson tied for second place with 15 each.
Rush's Neil Peart will release his third instructional video for drums on October 14. Taking Center Stage: A Lifetime of Live Performance will contain "the most complete overview ever documented of Neil’s approach to live performance and Rush’s music."


Included on the DVD will be a complete Rush concert with the cameras focused only on the drums and an hour-long discussion on the track Caravan.
