Faith Hill has compared her relationship with Tim McGraw to Rocky Road ice cream.
The American country singer met her now-husband while touring in 1996. At the time she was engaged to her former producer, Scott Hendricks, and Tim had recently come out of an engagement.
Faith ended her relationship and began dating Tim. The pair became engaged on the tour and married in October of that year.
Faith – who has three children with Tim, Gracie Katherine, Maggie Elizabeth, and Audrey Caroline – says although she is madly in love with her husband, they have their differences.
“Sometimes we get a little spirited, which makes it more interesting. I mean, you don’t want to be vanilla ice cream – you want it to be Rocky Road sometimes,” she laughed in an interview with the Kyle and Jackie O radio show.
The couple famously never spend more than three consecutive days apart. Tim says most people find that boring.
“We don’t tour together very often, but we’re not usually apart. Usually we work it out so we’re not working at the same time,” he explained.
“I think people get bored with us because we’re home most of the time. Our three daughters are at school, so we spend our time taking them back and forth to school. It’s not very glamorous.”
The stars maintain that it was their love of country music that initially brought them together. When teased by the radio host why Faith didn’t end up with rapper P. Diddy instead, the stunning star was lost for words.
“Why didn’t you end up with P. Diddy, baby?” Tim jokingly reiterated.
“What like as a husband?” she chimed. “I’m usually good at thinking of something funny off the top off my head, but I’m lost for words! You’re my P. Diddy!”
The radio host went on the liken Faith to Olivia Newton John in musical Grease.
The 43-year-old star was grateful for the comment.
“Oh my God! That’s a huge compliment! I wish I looked as good as she did in those pants that she wore in Grease,” she laughed.
“Oh baby, I don’t think you have anything to worry about,” Tim reassured her.
