Rihanna, Madonna, Jeff Buckley, Bob Marley and Jimi Hendrix have all been global chart toppers, but they are now set to become chart toppings as PizzaExpress immortalises iconic album covers through the medium of pizza.

Using a variety of fresh toppings and herbs, pizza artists will transform celebrated artwork from groundbreaking albums such as “True Blue”, “Loud” and “Legend” onto pizza bases.

The limited edition pizzas, which will be available to order at PizzaExpress’ Dean Street restaurant on 30th August, have been created to celebrate PizzaExpress’ search for great musical talent via “The Big Audition”.

The Big Audition with Jamie Cullum invites singers and musicians, soloists and bands, of any music style, to showcase their talent in this unique “open to all” competition.

Ross Dines, Music Manager at PizzaExpress said; “Live music has been at the heart of PizzaExpress for over 40 years and we felt that celebrating iconic albums in this unique way was the perfect way to celebrate our search for new music talent.

“It is an intricate process to ensure that our toppings do these great albums justice, but we are confident music and pizza fans alike will love the end product, and who knows, maybe the next artist to be immortalised in this way could be the winner of The Big Audition!”

Entrants are invited to upload their audition (a video or audio clip) online at www.pizzaexpress.com/thebigaudition. The competition is open for entry until 2nd September 2011.

The winner of the competition will receive £5,000 from Barclaycard Freedom to kick start their music career, as well as a performing slot at the PizzaExpress Jazz Club, which is where jazz sensation Jamie Cullum was first discovered.
