After a near tragedy on Sunday night with the stage collapse in Ottawa, Cheap Trick was able to get new equipment and instruments to play the Tuesday night free concert at Artpark in Lewiston, NY, outside of Buffalo. 15,000 turned out for the show.


Awards on Thursday night in London before he was able to present Ringo Starr with the Icon Award. He blamed his absence on a recurring back injury that, along with nerve damage in his hands, forced him the stop drumming in 2009.

Marie Osmond joined other protesters, including Penn & Teller and showgirls from a number of hotels, to protest add-on resort fees that are mandatory but rarely advertised in the room rates in the city. These fees can add as much as $24.99 per night to cover such things as internet access, but are many times hidden until the final bill is due.

"It's extremely important for visitors to the city to be aware of the high prices they could be paying in mandatory resort fees. I am proud to be part of this key initiative."


The Jackson family is once again going to try to mount a tribute show for the late-Michael Jackson. An announcement is expected on Monday in Los Angeles.


Poison will be taking at least a year off after they finish their current tour with Motley Crue so Bret Michaels can continue to develop his solo career. Bret told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette "Next year, I'll be out solo again and we'll come back in '13 and go all the way to our 30th anniversary" which occurs in 2016. "I've never looked at Poison as a sideline, it's just that as we got to a certain point in our career, I needed to fulfil much more of what I got into it for. I'm very passionate about creating and touring and doing stuff."


Brenda Lee and Jeannie Seely have been named the hosts for the SOURCE Awards on August 25 in Nashville. The awards salute women in the music industry for their contributions.
