Nick Oliveri, Kyuss and ex-QOTSA bassist, has been arrested following a stand-off with a SWAT team in LA.

Gossip site TMZ reports that Oliveri was arguing with his girlfriend in their LA duplex and subsequently refused to let her leave and refused to speak to police.

This reportedly led to a SWAT team being called in to take care of the situation. After two hours, Oliveri let his girlfriend leave the duplex, and two hours later, allowed police to enter.

The SWAT team reportedly found a loaded, high-powered rifle in the home, and booked Oliveri for felony domestic violence. He was later released on $100,000 bail.

Oliveri played on the first two Kyuss albums, the first two Queens Of The Stone Age albums, with punk rock troublemakers The Dwarves, Winnebago Deal and has collaborated with Slash, Mark Lanegan, Eagles of Death Metal, Rollins Band and Turbonegro.

His latest venture was the Kyuss Lives! reunion tour, conspicuously without Josh Homme, who fired him from Queens Of The Stone due to rumours of domestic violence.

In 2008, Oliveri told me during an interview that he had once been put on probation after a fight between him, his ex-wife, and “some guy” in a band and was going to anger management sessions in between Queens shows.
