Filmmaker Spike Jonze goes back to his roots by collaborating with the Beastie Boys one more time.
Jonze was the man behind the landmark Beastie Boys clip ‘Sabotage’, as well as iconic videos for ‘Buddy Holly’ by Weezer, ‘It’s Oh So Quiet’ by Bjork, ‘Da Funk’ by Daft Punk, and ‘Praise You’ and ‘Weapon Of Choice’ by Fatboy Slim.
Of course, he recently did a short film for Arcade Fire’s ‘The Suburbs’ and he’s made a couple of films… Being John Malkovic, Adaptation and Where The Wild Things Are.
Now he returns to the Beastie Boys fray after doing clips for ‘Sabotage’, ‘Time For Livin’, ‘Ricky’s Theme’, ‘Sure Shot’, and a version of ‘Root Down’.
He’s working on a clip for their Santigold-featured dub-inflected ‘Don’t Play No Game That I Can’t Win’ from Hot Sauce Committee Part Two.
In a presser to Prefix mag, they revealed that the clip with feature the B-Boys and Santigold as action figures pursued by a team of assassins, with additional zombies and sharks to boot.
The clip will likely be released by the end of the month.
