Wham’s ‘Last Christmas’ was voted most annoying Christmas song in a poll.

Admittedly, the poll was from the small nation state of Bulgaria in Eastern Europe, but those Bulgarians might just be onto something.

The vote was held on the website NoHoHoHo.org, with Wham holding 18.72% of the vote, just ahead of Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want For Christmas’ at 15.36% and ‘Íîâà ãîäèíà’ by Â. Íàéäåíîâ è Á. Êàðàäî÷åâà coming in third with 13.66% of the vote (damn, I hate that ‘Íîâà ãîäèíà’ song).

Nokia’s OVI music store has catalogued the most downloaded Christmas songs of the year so far, and come to the conclusion that number one and number two are exactly the same as Bulgaria’s most annoying ones (‘Íîâà ãîäèíà’ is strangely absent).

Other songs on the list include: Bing Crosby’s ‘White Christmas’, Band Aid’s ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas’ and Lennon’s ‘Happy Xmas (War Is Over)’.
