The ‘Sing-Off’ host – who was married to the singer-and-actress from 2002 to 2005 – is pleased his former spouse has found love again with NFL star Eric Johnson, who she agreed to marry last week after six months of dating.
He said: "I will say the same thing I always say; I wish her the very best."
While Nick wishes Jessica the best, he is also hoping for a happy future with his own new fiancee, Vanessa Minnillo – who he has been dating for four years – though they won’t rush into tying the knot.
He said: “We're still basking in the glow of our very recent engagement and enjoying that. I'm sure we'll get on with the planning and what-not shortly, but we're just enjoying this experience.
“We're very excited. We're obviously extremely happy and looking forward to everything that the future brings for us, so we are very excited and just enjoying the moment."
Nick’s well-wishes echo those of Jessica, who recently sent her own congratulations to her ex-husband on his engagement.
She said: "Our relationship was over a really long time ago, and it would be nice if everyone could move on with us and really just celebrate the love between him and Vanessa. I do, and I really wish them nothing but the best."
