Johnny Cash memorabilia up for auction

Johnny Cash memorabilia including instruments, hand-written lyrics and stage outfits are all being put on auction next month.

Over 1000 items are to go under the hammer and are expected to raise more than half a million dollars.

The auction which is at Julien's Auctions in California will take place on December 5.

It includes items from Cash's military career all the way through to the end of his career.

A vintage 1951 Martin guitar used by Cash in studio that later became the designated tour bus guitar is expected to go for between $20,000 - 30,000.

Some of the proceeds from the auction will benefit MusiCares.
