Queen join growing EMI exodus

Queen join the EMI exodus with the artists leaving the major label with serious financial woes.

As they slam the door on EMI after 40 years they open a new one at Universal.

Queen follow Paul McCartney and Radiohead in departing EMI after the buy-out by private equity firm Terra Firma lead to untold financial woes.

A spokensman for Queen told The Times,

“EMI just decided they couldn’t compete. It was too much to pay and they want to spend that money on developing new talent.”
