Celine Dion has admitted her surprise appearance at the 2024 Grammys "took a lot out of" her.

The My Heart Will Go On singer received a standing ovation from the star-studded audience when she unexpectedly walked out on the stage at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles to present the Album of the Year award in February.

The moment marked Dion's first public appearance since she announced she had been diagnosed with stiff person syndrome, a rare neurological disorder, in December 2022.

In a Life in Looks video to accompany her Vogue France cover, the Canadian hitmaker reflected on the "touching" experience.

"It was very nerve-wracking, but at the same time, a big honour," the 56-year-old said. "That magic. That excitement. To see the fans, to see the crowd. To see show business again.

"It took a lot, a lot out of me. But my son, René Charles - RC - came and gave me his support... But it's always very, very touching when you have a standing ovation."

The Think Twice star added that she was honoured to present the prestigious award to Taylor Swift for her album Midnights.

Swift received some backlash online for not acknowledging Dion during her speech, however, they quickly squashed any negative rumours by posing for photos together backstage.

In the video, Dion also admitted she wasn't sure about wearing her mustard Valentino coat onstage but her stylist Law Roach convinced her that she could do "whatever you want in fashion".

"It made me feel better for a moment to hold onto this coat, to hide myself a little bit from all these little things," she said.
