Beyonce gushed about Meghan, Duchess of Sussex's "beautiful" son Archie as she met the royal at the London premiere of The Lion King on Sunday night

The singer, who voices the character of Nala in the Disney live-action reboot, set social media alight when pictures emerged of her and Meghan sharing a hug as they met at the star-studded premiere.

Now, details have emerged of what the pair chatted about during their brief interaction, after their conversation was caught on video.

After calling former actress Meghan "my princess", mother-of-three Beyonce can be heard telling the royal: "That baby is so beautiful."

Meghan and her husband Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, welcomed their first child together, son Archie, nine weeks ago.

Beyonce later told the duchess that she and husband JAY-Z, who was also in attendance at the premiere, "love you guys". Harry, who joined the chat slightly late, then told the singer: "You've been rather busy."

Jay also joined in the mutual compliment session, telling Harry: "Congrats on the birth of your baby."

Despite worlds colliding when music royalty met actual royalty, sources told Entertainment Tonight that Beyonce and Jay actually breached royal protocol with their appearance at the premiere - when they arrived after Meghan and Harry.

"When Beyonce and her hubby did arrive, they completely upstaged the royals, even getting a bigger cheer from the onlookers who had congregated in Leicester Square," an insider told the website.
