Jessica Simpson is set to delve into the ups and downs of her life and career in a candid new memoir.

The I Wanna Love You Forever hitmaker has inked a deal with publishing bosses at Harper Collins to pen a book, in which she'll give fans an honest look at her rise to fame, the building of her billion-dollar lifestyle empire, and her family life.

"I have been approached many times over the years about writing a book," she tells People.com. "It never felt right to me until this very moment. I have always felt that one of my God-given purposes in this life is to inspire people."

She adds: "I hope that by telling my whole story and not holding back I can help move people to walk through their fears and defeat their challenges, as I am working hard to do every day with mine. I hope readers will feel the love, laughter, tears and truth contained in every page."

Set for release on 4 February (20), the as-yet-untitled release will also explore her marriage to former American footballer Eric Johnson and the joys and difficulties of parenting their three children, Maxwell, Ace, and newborn Birdie. The book will also highlight Simpson's marriage to pop star Nick Lachey and their headline-grabbing divorce in 2006.

Simpson also took to Instagram to share the news on Wednesday (10Jul19).

"I have been waiting for so long to share some exciting news...I will be releasing my first book on February 4th with @harpercollinsus," she writes. "I have been working so hard on it - I have opened my heart up in a way I never have before and now I can't wait to share it with the world."
