R. Kelly has escaped charges in Dallas, Texas after one of his alleged sex victims accused him of giving her a sexually transmitted disease.
Local authorities began investigating the Bump n' Grind hitmaker last year (18) after a young woman, whose identity has not been released, filed a police report, claiming Kelly had held her captive as a sex slave for months in 2017.
According to TMZ, the female accused the musician of restraining her, plying her with alcohol and drugs, and passing an unspecified infection to her after engaging in sexual relations. However, it appears Dallas Police Department officials have since chosen not to pursue charges against Kelly.
With the case now closed, the woman's attorney, Lee Merritt, is seeking to file a civil suit against the R&B veteran on his client's behalf.
The news emerges a day after it was revealed that prosecutors in Georgia and Illinois have started criminal probes into the mountain of sexual misconduct accusations made against the singer in the damning Surviving R. Kelly documentary series, which has stirred up controversy following its premiere on America's Lifetime network last week (ends06Jan19).
The six-part show delved into long-standing allegations about Kelly's rumoured exploits, including claims linking him to alleged sex with underage girls and brainwashing women into joining his purported sex cult, using his Georgia property and recording studio in Chicago, Illinois to house the females.
Kelly, who was acquitted of child porn charges in 2008, has repeatedly slammed the accusations, and has threatened to sue everyone involved in Surviving R. Kelly.
Meanwhile, cops in Chicago paid a visit to the musician's studio on Tuesday evening (08Jan19) after it featured heavily on the series as one of the possible places of captivity.
The building, which is currently listed for sale, appeared to be vacant, but sources tell TMZ a party was actually held there later in the night, as Kelly marked his 52nd birthday.
