Editors at website The Cut have removed a hateful story attacking newlywed Priyanka Chopra after her new brother-in-law, Joe Jonas, called it "evil".
The pop star and his fiancee, actress Sophie Turner, both took to Twitter on Wednesday (05Dec18) to attack the writer and publishers of the expose, which ripped the Baywatch star who wed Joe's brother Nick in India over the weekend (01-02Dec18).
"This is disgusting. @TheCut should be ashamed to have someone write such evil words," Joe wrote. "What Nick & Pri have is Beautiful Love. Thank u, Next," he added, referencing the title of Ariana Grande's latest hit.
Sophie added, "This is wildly inappropriate and totally disgusting. Very disappointed that The Cut would give anyone a platform to spew such bulls**t."
Editors took note and quickly erased the article, replacing it with a picture of Priyanka and Nick and adding the note: "Upon further editorial review, we found this story did not meet our standards. We’ve removed it and apologize."
The Cut article, headlined 'Is Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas' Love For Real?', suggested Nick Jonas wed "against his will", adding his relationship with Chopra was a scam to bolster her career.
Both Jonas and Turner attended the newlyweds' two wedding ceremonies at the Umaid Bhawan Palace in Rajasthan on Saturday and Sunday, and the week-long traditional celebrations to mark the union.
The couple first tied the knot during a Christian ceremony on Saturday and then returned to the palace on Sunday for a sacred service that honoured the bride's Hindu faith.
