Drake leads the nominations in this year’s BET Hip-Hop Awards with 11 nods.

The 31-year-old rapper's career is going from strength to strength, and the list of nominations released by Billboard on Wednesday (12Sep18) revealed that he is nominated in categories including Best Hip-Hop Video and Single of the Year for God’s Plan, as well as Album of the Year for Scorpion.

He faces some tough competition from the likes of Cardi B, who will be hoping to emulate last year’s success in which she took home five awards. Receiving ten nominations, the Bodak Yellow hitmaker will be battling Drake to win Best Hip-Hop Video and Single of the Year for I Like It, and Album of the Year for Invasion of Privacy. She’s additionally been recognised for her eclectic fashion sense in the Made-You-Look-Award (Best Hip-Hop Style Category), where she’ll go head to head with rival Nicki Minaj and rap trio Migos, featuring her husband Offset.

Childish Gambino is next in the list of top nominees, having been nominated in six categories, while Travis Scott and Kendrick Lamar will be hoping to take home a maximum of five gongs. J.Cole, Post Malone and Beyonce and JAY-Z's The Carters have also received nominations at the awards, which will return to The Fillmore Miami Beach at Jackie Gleason Theater on 6 October, and BET Networks will premiere the annual telecast on 16 October.
