Mac Miller's latest album Swimming is set to reach a new peak on this week's Official Albums Chart following his tragic death.

The US rapper was found dead at his home in California, reportedly from a suspected drug overdose last Friday (Sept 7). He was 26 years old.

The star, real name Malcolm James McCormick, released his fifth album Swimming just last month, where it debuted at Number 37 on the Official UK Albums Chart. The collection climbs to Number 23 in the latest midweek chart update, heading for a potential new chart peak in the UK.

Swimming was the fast-rising rapper's first Top 40 album on the Official Chart; three of his previous records landed inside the Top 100.

On the Official Singles Chart Update, two tracks from Swimming have entered the Top 100: Self Care at 56 and Hurt Feelings at Number 89.

Miller had previously appeared on the Official Singles Chart in 2013, when he featured on The Way by his former girlfriend Ariana Grande. The singer has paid tribute to Miller on Instagram. Other stars who have paid tribute to Miller include Drake, Childish Gambino, G-Eazy, and J Cole, who encouraged fans to contact him if they were "going through something".
