Shakira cancelled her Wednesday night (29Aug18) concert in Los Angeles after coming down with a virus.

The singer rocked The Forum in Inglewood on Tuesday night, but was forced to scrap her second show at the venue.

The Hips Don't Lie star announced the news via Instagram hours before she was scheduled to hit the stage, writing: "Los Angeles, thank you so much for one of the most unforgettable nights of the tour last night (sic). You guys were such an unbelievable crowd. I was so excited to sing and dance with you again tonight.

"However, after the show I started to feel unwell and I woke up this morning with a virus that has knocked me off my feet. I'm so sorry that I am unable to perform tonight."

The concert has been rescheduled for 3 September (18).

Shakira insists this will be the only show affected by her illness, and the tour will continue in Anaheim, California on Friday (31Aug18).

The Whenever, Wherever singer is currently trekking around the globe on her El Dorado World Tour.

Fans can expect to see a spectacle which includes six outfit changes, with Shakira wearing everything from a belly dancer-inspired outfit, to sheer, sparkly tights teamed with a Balmain vest.

"(The clothes have a) bold, powerful and very rock 'n' roll vibe," her costume designer Marjan Malakpour told People. "She definitely knows what she likes and doesn't like and over time we've developed such a great working relationship. We understand each other very well."

Designer Juan Carlos Obando has created two of the custom-made looks, including the flowing leopard print dress with side cutouts she wears to belt out Hips Don't Lie.

The singer's El Dorado Tour continues until 3 November (18), when she'll wrap up the trek in her native Colombia.
