Drake helped a heart patient who caught his attention by filming herself dancing to his track In My Feelings celebrate her 11th birthday.

The Canadian rapper's hit has sparked a dance craze, dubbed the 'KiKi challenge', and fans have posted videos of themselves jigging to the song online - one of whom was Sofia Sanchez, a little girl from Chicago, Illinois who recently underwent open-heart surgery while awaiting a full transplant.

Drake took time out from his tour to visit the Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago on Monday, just two days after Sofia turned 11 - as she asked him in her 'KiKi challenge' video to make her birthday wish come true and visit her.

After meeting the brave youngster, the hip-hop superstar posted a picture of himself with Sofia on his Instagram page, which he captioned: "Me and my love Sofia talking about Bieber and Owls and Basketball."

Those subjects are close to the musician's heart as he's collaborated with Justin in the past, is a huge fan of the Toronto Raptors basketball team and uses a stylised owl as the logo of his OVO brand. Sources tell TMZ.com, the Hotline Bling hitmaker spent around an hour with his young fan, and that they also chatted about her love of cheerleading.

Sofia suffers from cardiomyopathy and has been undergoing invasive procedures to ensure her heart does not fail before a compatible donor is found for a transplant.

Drake's visit gave a boost to a GoFundMe campaign aiming to find cash to help pay for the sick youngster's medical bills and the cost to her parents of remaining by her side. More than $2,500 (£1,950) in donations have poured in since Monday - taking the total raised to more than $43,000 (£33,500).
