Pink has been forced to postpone her concert in Sydney, Australia on Friday (03Aug18) due to ill health.

The So What singer was due to perform the first of her nine concerts at Qudos Bank Arena in the city on Friday, but representatives for promoter Live Nation announced that she was battling an upper respiratory infection so would have to reschedule.

Pink, real name Alecia Moore, later took to social media to apologise to fans.

"Hi my Sydney friends. It is with great frustration that I bring you this news:( Friday’s show will be postponed," she wrote. "I was hoping a couple of days of rest would help me kick this sick, but not at the speed I was hoping for. I appreciate your well wishes and understanding + I’m sorry."

She later asked locals for recommendations for stores where she can get healthy drinks in Sydney.

"Sydney friends: does anyone have a favorite place that makes wellness shots and fresh juices for when I get there? Thanks in advance. And how do we feel about Neti- pots. They scare me," she asked, referring to the devices which help flush mucus from the nasal cavity.

Live Nation officials said in their statement that the singer had "received medical advice that she should not perform in order to facilitate her recovery", and told audience members that they were working on a rescheduled date.

They added that all Sydney performances on the Beautiful Trauma World Tour from Saturday onwards will not be affected "at this stage".

The 38-year-old kicked off her world tour in March and launched the Down Under leg at the start of July. She is also expected to perform in Brisbane and Melbourne before moving to Dunedin and Auckland in New Zealand.

Pink has brought her children - daughter Willow, seven, and son Jameson, 19 months - on her world tour, and recently admitted on Reese Witherspoon's new unscripted TV series Shine On with Reese that it was "exhausting" and "the hardest thing I've ever done".
