Miley Cyrus has settled a lawsuit brought about by a model who alleged she suffered a dog bite at an apartment complex owned by the singer.

Model Yolande Ngom sued Miley's sister Brandi back in 2014, claiming Feather, a German Shepherd dog owned by the popstar's elder sibling, attacked her at a property owned by the musician's Smiley Miley production company.

The model's lawyers have been hounding the Wrecking Ball singer, 25, over allegations she lied by claiming she had no knowledge of the incident and had not met the dog prior to the alleged attack.

According to legal documents obtained by The Blast, the warring parties have now reached an undisclosed settlement to dismiss the case - meaning a trial scheduled for later this month (Aug18) will not proceed.

After she sued Brandi, Yolande's lawyers demanded Miley sit for a deposition about the dog but the singer filed documents objecting to being deposed under oath as she claimed she had no information relating to the alleged incident.

However, earlier this year a video surfaced showing the dog lover with Feather in 2010, and Miley finally sat for a deposition after admitting she needed to make "clarifications" to her original declaration.

Last Friday (27Jul18), the singer's legal team asked a judge to keep the tape of her testimony secret, claiming that making it public would cause damage to her reputation, as she is often "the subject of media and tabloid speculating concerning even irrelevant minutiae details of her life".

Yolande refused her request, and accused the star of trying to obtain special treatment as she might be embarrassed by the "implausibility of her own testimony" during the deposition.

However, the case will not now be heard in court as both parties have agreed to settle their legal battle and dismiss the case.
