Demi Lovatos ex-boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama has rushed to the singer's bedside following her suspected drug overdose.

In pictures obtained by E! News, the 38-year-old actor was seen driving into Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles on Wednesday (25Jul18), where his 25-year-old ex-girlfriend is currently receiving treatment after being found unconscious at an address in Hollywood Hills, California.

The website reported that the Grey's Anatomy star arrived at approximately 3 p.m. and was ushered into a staff parking lot on site. According to insiders, he stayed with the star for over two hours and appeared "very down".

“He was sombre and quiet and you could tell he was in a very serious mood. He arrived and left by himself,” a source told the news outlet.

Wilmer dated the Confident singer for six years before announcing their break-up in June 2016 in a joint statement on Instagram, where they celebrated their "loving and wonderful years together".

The pair has been openly supportive of one another ever since, with Demi revealing in her 2017 tell-all documentary Simply Complicated that she had "never loved anybody" like she loved Wilmer and will always adore him.

The actor was said to be "shocked" after learning about his former flame's apparent overdose and joined a slew of celebrities sharing their concern for the star.

“He knew she was going through a tough time but he wasn’t prepared for this,” a source close to the former couple told editors at People earlier this week. “He saw her through so many ups and downs and was her rock through some of her darkest moments. To see her back in such a sad and vulnerable place is heartbreaking for him.”

It's believed Wilmer is the first celebrity guest to visit Demi in the hospital following the arrival of her mother Dianna and 16-year-old sister Madison on Tuesday afternoon. A representative for the popstar told the media she is "awake" and recovering under doctors' care.
