Paris Jackson has defended an edited family portrait showing her posing with her mother Debbie Rowe and late father Michael Jackson after an actress dubbed it "creepy".

The 20-year-old took to Twitter on Tuesday (10Apr18) to share the fan-made picture, which had been obviously Photoshopped to combine a recent picture of Paris with old photos of Michael, who died in 2009 when she was 11 years old, and Debbie. The finished snap shows Paris smiling as she poses in the middle of her parents, with Michael resting a hand on her shoulder and Debbie wrapping her arms around Paris' neck.

After she shared the image, actress Lori Petty, who played Lolly in Orange is the New Black, replied, "U don’t think that’s creepy AF (as f**k)?" and Paris replied to defend it, revealing that it's nice to imagine what it would have been like to have a normal family unit.

"No i think it’s nice to dream about what it would be like to have parents, and to have it put into something i can see, even if it’s a fan made edit," she tweeted.

Lori replied, "If you like it, I love it... Didn’t mean to be unkind," before adding, "Love you," to which Paris responded, "Love u too darlin."

Paris was raised by the King of Pop after he divorced from Debbie when their daughter was only one year old, and she grew up with older brother Prince, born Michael Joseph Jackson Jr., and younger half-brother Prince Michael Jackson II, known as Blanket. She was estranged from her mum for years before reconnecting with her in 2016 as she was battling breast cancer.

Paris turned 20 years old last week and celebrated by throwing a star-studded party at HYDE Sunset in West Hollywood. Guests included Chris Brown, director Lee Daniels, Jared Leto, Paris Hilton, Ashlee Simpson Ross and husband Evan Ross.
