Hip-hop newcomer Cardi B has been left gobsmacked after learning Oprah Winfrey and singer Erykah Badu are big fans of her debut album, Invasion of Privacy.
The Bodak Yellow hitmaker has been showered with compliments from her rap peers since unveiling her highly-anticipated project on Friday (06Apr18), and Cardi has been busy reposting the Instagram messages and returning the love to her celebrity supporters, including Missy Elliott, T.I., 2 Chainz, and collaborators Chance the Rapper and Kehlani.
However, Cardi was blown away at a post featured on the Oprah Magazine profile late on Friday, in which media mogul and actress Oprah was pictured smiling with her eyes closed while wearing a pair of headphones.
"Listening to that new Cardi B album," read the caption, prompting a stunned Cardi to respond, "I CAAAANNNNTTTTTT BELIIIEEEEEVEEEEESS IT (sic)!!!!!!!!!! OMMMMMGGGGGGGGGGGG (oh my god)".
She was also shocked to receive the blessing of soul legend Erykah, who reposted a piece of artwork by Jessi Jumanji depicting Cardi as the Mona Lisa.
Alongside the image, Erykah wrote, "The realist. @iamcardib we watched you turn your empire to a wombniverse! What that says to me is If you can visualize it you can realize it. Keep giving haters a job bb (baby) (sic)."
"I can I die!!!" Cardi remarked as she shared the Badu tribute. "The support I?m getting from Artist its amazing i can't even believe it specially by @erykahbadu (sic)!!!!"
She also marvelled at how far she had come from her former job as a stripper after spotting a huge billboard for her new album in New York's Times Square.
"I USED TO STRIP IN TIME SQUARE... now I?m here Like was good (sic)!!!," she captioned the shot.
Cardi has a lot to celebrate this weekend - she made her debut performing on U.S. comedy show Saturday Night Live, and used her final set to debut her growing baby belly, confirming longrunning rumours suggesting she is expecting a child with her fiance, Migos star Offset.
Vowing to continue fighting to make all of her career dreams come true, she took to Twitter on Sunday (08Apr18) and wrote, "I started winning when the whole world was doubting on me !think imma lose with my little baby counting on me (sic)?".
