Diplo donned a blonde wig as he attempted to recreate the choreography in Taylor Swift's Delicate video in a hilarious Instagram post on Thursday (15Mar18).
The 39-year-old DJ did his utmost to copy Taylor's dance moves as he twirled his way through a street and crawled on cars, while getting soaked by the rain. However, Diplo didn't manage to recreate all of Taylor's moves as he particularly struggled with the scene where the singer does the splits on the hood of a car.
Captioning the clip, Diplo wrote: "I'm delicate".
Taylor dropped the official video for Delicate last weekend at the iHeartRadio Music Awards. In the footage, the Bad Blood hitmaker is apparently bored of her superstardom, practising her fake smile for the public and the press in a mirror.
She discovers she has become invisible, and celebrates by kicking off her heels as she dances around in a wild and goofy manner in a lobby and through the corridors of a luxury hotel.
Prepping for the video shoot took a lot of work, as Taylor shared several clips of her rehearsals on Instagram after it dropped. For the actual shoot, Taylor and her crew took over several locations in Los Angeles over a two-night period, including the Los Angeles Theatre and Millennium Biltmore Hotel.
While the majority of fans have praised Taylor's Delicate video, others have drawn similarities between it and a two-year-old Kenzo World advertisement, which was directed by Spike Jonze and featured actress Margaret Qualley dancing in a similar manner after escaping a fancy gala.
"Taylor Swift's 'Delicate' video is a poor man's version of Spike Jonze's ad for Kenzo, this bop (tune) deserved more," grumbled one music fan, while another wrote: "Anybody else notice that the @taylorswift13 'Delicate' music video ripped off Spike Jonze's Kenzo video? It's almost beat-for-beat, just with worse dancing".
Delicate was directed by Taylor's frequent collaborator Joseph Kahn, who previously faced criticism for appearing to borrow imagery from Beyonce's 2016 Formation video for Swift's Look What You Made Me Do promo.
