The Weeknd and his model ex Bella Hadid are reportedly on the verge of a new romance.
The stars hit it off in 2015 when Bella starred in the Canadian musician's In the Night music video, but they split 18 months later, with insiders claiming their busy work schedules kept them apart too often to make the relationship work.
However, friends are convinced a reconciliation is looming.
"It’s only a matter of time that they get back together (sic),” a source tells Us Weekly. “That has definitely not been ruled out. They know it’s all about timing. When they are both ready to get back together, they will.”
The Weeknd briefly dated singer and actress Selena Gomez following his break-up with Bella, but his 10-month romance with the Hands to Myself hitmaker ended in October (17) and Selena returned to the arms of her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber.
Insiders claim the break-up prompted The Weeknd, real name Abel Tesfaye, to consider reconciling with Bella, who has made it no secret she still loves the singer.
“The whole Selena and Justin thing hit The Weeknd really hard,” the source adds. “After they got back together and that finally set in, he wanted to go dark for a bit and keep a low profile.
"He had his phase of going out and partying, but then really started to miss Bella again. They definitely still keep in touch and they still totally love each other.”
Bella also saw other people following her split with The Weeknd - the supermodel was briefly linked to Drake last year.
