Cheryl is playing the supportive girlfriend as her boyfriend Liam Payne works on his solo debut in Los Angeles.
The couple who are now parents to a baby boy, are currently living in separate countries as Liam bids to become One Direction's most successful solo star. And to deal with their long distance love, Cheryl is making full use of mobile phone technology.
"They FaceTime a minimum of three times a day, they talk on the phone, WhatsApp or email all the time, and send each other a cute selfie before bed," a source told Heat magazine.
Eyebrows were raised when 23-year-old Liam was pictured earlier this year partying at a club in Los Angeles, but the insider added Cheryl, 33, was far from bothered as it was a night organised by Jay Z's record label.
"She knows he needs to be seen with the right people and make the right connections,” the insider said.
While Cheryl's music career seems to be on a permanent hiatus, the former Girls Aloud star is more than happy to support her man as he bids for solo glory, like his former bandmates Zayn Malik and Harry Styles, who recently topped the charts with his first solo single, Sign of the Times.
"Cheryl knows Liam's solo career means the world to him," the source divulged. "She's in the industry too, and understands that he has to go away and work. She thinks he'll be so successful."
However, while Liam is certainly keen to continue to make his mark in the music world, he won't be leaving the Fight For This Love singer behind.
"Liam wants his career to be a success, but he knows his priorities, and has told Cheryl that she and their baby will always come first."
The couple has reportedly named their newborn son Bear, following in the footsteps of celebrity mums and actresses Kate Winslet and Alicia Silverstone
"Liam and Cheryl couldn’t decide on a name for ages and kept toing and froing between options," a source told the Daily Mail. "But they both loved Bear and settled on it a few days ago. Despite the sleepless nights, the couple are completely smitten with little Bear."
The baby will also take the One Direction star’s surname and he will be known as Bear Payne.
