Harry Styles has joked the daring helicopter stunt he performed for his Sign Of The Times music video helped him to hit "the high notes" in the tune.

The 23-year-old singer is currently enjoying huge success with the catchy tune his debut solo effort. The video for the track saw Harry soaring through the sky with just a harness attaching him to a helicopter above, and the curly-haired heartthrob opened up about how scared he was performing the feat during a chat on Britain's Capital FM on Friday (05May17).

"Yeah that’s how I go to work. Go to grab my coffee, I just drop in. The usual, wahey! It was mental if I’m honest. (The harness) helps with those high notes! But no honestly, actually, if I didn’t feel safe, I wouldn’t have done it."

Harry also struggled to remember the lyrics to the tune while he was flying through the air.

Among Harry's upcoming projects is the job of co-hosting The Late Late Show with James Corden for a week later this year. Speaking about the prospect, Harry, who is a close friend of host James', said he was looking forward to the opportunity.

"Well not hosting, I’m sleeping over for a week. I’m going to sleep in the dressing room," he smiled. "I am (excited), I don’t have to go anywhere I can just stay there which is amazing."

During his interview on Capital, Harry was also surprised by a mariachi band, who performed some of Harry's most famous tweets, including: "If Louis Tomlinson feels tired, he sits down to have a wee... I've seen it".

While Harry was on Capital, his One Direction bandmate Niall Horan was co-hosting Nick Grimshaw's Breakfast Show over on BBC Radio 1. His chat saw him praise Harry for Sign Of The Times and also reveal that the 1D boys have an email chain so they can try and avoid clashes when it comes to releasing their solo material.

"There's a bit of an email chain going on," Niall said. "(But) we don't try to work it around each other. If it falls, it falls – it's happened before."
