Singer Willow Smith will be among the female celebrities lending their voices to unique pieces for Refinery29's new Video Slate platform.

Representatives for the hip digital media company announced on Wednesday (03May17) they are partnering with some of Hollywood's most daring stars to create video content as part of a forthcoming women empowerment initiative that will be unveiled throughout this year (17).

“I am privileged to commission, create and broadcast purposeful content that tells the many stories of female power and potential,” Amy Emmerich, chief content officer of Refinery29, tells Variety in a statement. “This year demonstrates that these critical representations of women are not only what the audience craves but also what they demand, and that servicing them is also good business.”

In addition to Whip My Hair hitmaker Willow, comedienne Rashida Jones and actresses Evan Rachel Wood and Zosia Mamet have signed up to create pieces for Video Slate.

According to Emmerich, the digital programming campaign will feature "rule-defying storytellers" creating original works spanning across genres, addressing global social issues through music, comedy, style and beauty topics.

Girls star Zosia executive produced modern-day fairytale anthology series Fabled for Video Slate and Willow has been tapped for live event Soundscape, which has been described as a 'fashion-forward' music videos series with the aim of partnering emerging musicians with female filmmakers to create visual mix tapes.

Meanwhile, Evan will also be showing off her musical skills by debuting her band Rebel and a Basketcase's promo for their new single Today on music video premiere show The Drop, and Rashida will be taking on more serious subject matter for her Video Slate contribution. The Parks and Recreation star executive produced Girly, a docu-series following girls who have launched trailblazing initiatives in their communities.
