DMX has checked himself into a rehabilitation facility after cancelling a series of gigs.
The rapper voluntarily entered a treatment centre in southern California on Thursday (27Apr17), according to TMZ.com.
DMX's manager Pat Gallo confirmed the Party Up (In Here) hitmaker was taking time off to focus on his health.
"It is important right now that he take some time off to focus on his health so that he can be a better father, friend and entertainer," he said. "We are eternally grateful for the outpouring of concern and support that has poured in. We ask that you please keep X in your prayers as he embraces your support."
According to TMZ, DMX entered the facility voluntarily, but was encouraged by Gallo and his ex-wife Tashera Simmons.
The rapper, real name Earl Simmons, was due to hit the stage in Santa Ana, California on Tuesday (25Apr17), but the show did not go on due to a "medical emergency".
He was scheduled to perform in Los Angeles on Wednesday (26Apr17) and San Diego on Thursday (27Apr17), but the gigs were postponed.
DMX's career has stalled in recent years due to stints in rehab and prison, with him previously serving time for drug possession charges which violated his court-ordered probation.
His last drug-related arrest was in 2013, though he was sentenced to six months in jail back in 2015 for failing to pay child support.
The 46-year-old appeared on Sean 'Diddy' Combs' Bad Boy Family Reunion Tour last year (16), and recently took part in the Ruff Ryders and Friends reunion gig in Brooklyn last week (21Apr17). However, DMX was reportedly incoherent and ranting to the crowd, sparking concern for his wellbeing.
