Mel B's first husband Jimmy Gulzar insists his ex-wife has failed to keep their daughter Phoenix out of danger.

The Dutch-born dancer was married to the former Spice Girl from 1998-2000 and their child is now 18.

Mel B and second husband Stephen Belafonte's former nanny Lorraine Gilles filed a defamation lawsuit against Mel last week (ends 21Apr17), disputing her claims that she is a "homewrecker, prostitute, and extortionist". Lorraine also included information that she engaged in three-way sex sessions with Mel and Stephen.

TMZ asked Jimmy about the latest drama on Friday (21Apr17).

"If it’s all true, that means that my daughter has seen everything while she has a father standing on the other side telling her (Mel), 'Bring my child to me'."

He continues on the subject of Mel, "As a mother, the first thing what you do (sic) is, I would say so as a parent, to get your child out of any dangerous situation possible. In my eyes she failed to do it."

Asked about claims that Stephen owns a gun, Jimmy laughed bitterly before revealing, "About seven years ago, I reported this gun. Melanie knew about it, her mother knew about her it, sister knew about it, bless her (late) dad, even her dad knew about it."

He also reveals that he pursued every avenue he could think of to try to protect their daughter.

"We all knew about it (gun), we all told her (Mel) about it and she denied it. I always knew that my child was in danger. It has been denied. I told from child services to judges, lawyers, you name it, and they all said I was just 'the angry ex', as they call it."

Jimmy explains he even called Eddie Murphy, the father of Mel's second daughter, Angel, 10: "...Because at the end of the day his child was there in the house as well. No reaction. Nobody reacted. All I say is nobody reacted."

Mel B filed for divorce from second husband Stephen in March (17) citing "irreconcilable differences".
