Best known for their 2003 hit “I Believe in a Thing Called Love” from debut album Permission to Land, The Darkness have continued to be influenced by 70s glam rock and heavy metal. Irrepressible frontman Justin Hawkins’ unique vocals carried the bands identity. The five-time platinum Permission to Land earned them three BRIT Awards in 2004 for Best Group, Best Rock Group and Best Album.

Their sophomore album One Way Ticket to Hell… and Back was released the following year, but in 2006, Hawkins left the band for personal reasons. In 2011, The Darkness reunited with the original line-up and embarked on several international tours and festival dates over the next year. Hot Cakes became The Darkness’ third album--the first since reuniting. 2015’s The Last of our Kind was produced by guitarist Dan Hawkins, featuring lead single “Barbarian”. With a new album set for release in 2017, The Darkness will also embark on a UK tour to end the year.
