Pink Floyd’s Nick Mason crashes his $3.7M car

On Sunday, Pink Floyd’s Nick Mason crashed his $3.7 million McLaren F1 GTR supercar during a demonstration lap at the Goodwill Circuit in West Sussex, England.



Mason did not appear to be injured in the crash; however, his car sustained major front-end damage after it went off the track, crossed over the grass on the side of the course and hit protective banking. Officials had to stop the race while debris from the crash was cleaned up.

Mason had always had a keen interest in cars and racing but didn’t have much time to pursue his hobby until Pink Floyd became more of a part-time venture. His driving was documented in the 1986 film Life Could Be a Dream and has competed in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
