The success of Ed Sheeran’s ÷ album shows few signs of slowing down yet as the record reaches a huge sales landmark.

On today’s Official Chart Update, the singer-songwriter’s third studio album has shifted over 1 million (1.07m) across physical, digital and streaming equivalent sales. Ed achieved the impressive feat in just 16 days, passing the million mark yesterday (March 19).

Ed is on course to claim the Official Chart double for a third week as ÷ continues to lead the way on the Official Albums Chart, while Shape Of You holds at Number 1 on the Official Singles Chart.

Four new albums are on track to debut inside this week’s Top 10, led by Depeche Mode’s 14th studio album Spirit at 2. Vera Lynn, who celebrates her 100th birthday this week, is currently at 3 with her new album 100 and is set to beat her own record as the oldest living artist to reach the Top 20.

Drake’s new collection More Life, which was surprise-released over the weekend, is currently at 4, and Zara Larsson’s debut So Good starts at Number 6.

Further down, rapper Rick Ross is currently at 22 with Rather You Than Me, rising British singer Frances is at 27 with her debut Things I’ve Never Said, and In Mind by US band Real Estate is at 34.

Finally, Spoon’s ninth album Hot Thoughts (34), and Salutations by US musician Conor Oberst (40) could both be entering this week’s albums Top 40.

Ed is still holding the Top 3 at the halfway stage of the chart week, with Galway Girl at 2 (behind Shape Of You by under 2,000), and Castle On The Hill is at 3.

This week’s highest new entry looks set to come from Clean Bandit; their new collaboration with Zara Larsson, Symphony, starts at Number 5. Meanwhile, three songs could be entering the Top 10 for the first time this week: Martin Jensen’s Solo Dance climbs from 12 to 6, Anne-Marie’s Ciao Adios leaps from 20 to 7, and Zedd & Alessia Cara’s Stay shifts from 23 to 9.

Further down, it looks like they’ll be big climbs for Julia Michaels’ Issues, currently up 15 places to 21, and Martin Solveig’s Places ft. Ina Wroldsen jumps 17 spots to 30.
