In his BBC Radio 6 Music Breakfast Show today - Tuesday 3 January, 7-10am - Shaun Keaveny will launch a very special listener vote.

Commemorating what would have been David Bowie’s 70th birthday and to mark the first anniversary of his unexpected death, 6 Music launches a vote to find the listeners’ favourite Bowie album from a Top 10 shortlist compiled by the station’s presenters. The chosen album will then be played out in full by Gideon Coe in his show on Monday 9 January (9pm-midnight).

The audience can vote by going to bbc.co.uk/6music – voting is open from 7am on Tuesday 3 January until 7pm on Friday 6 January.

Compiled by the 6 Music’s presenters, here is the Top 10 list of Bowie albums that listeners can vote for:

Aladdinsane
Black Star
Diamond Dogs
Heroes
Hunky Dory
Low
Scary Monsters
Station to Station
Young Americans
Ziggy Stardust

Paul Rodgers, Head of BBC Radio 6 Music, says: “What better way for BBC Radio 6 Music to celebrate the life and legacy of one of music’s most extraordinary artists than to reflect on some his best records. We’re really looking forward to finding out which Bowie album is the most popular amongst 6 Music listeners and then listening to it together in Gideon Coe’s show.”
