Kanye West celebrated his wife Kim Kardashian's 36th birthday with a sweet video tribute to the reality TV star on Friday (21Oct16).

The rapper let his wife's sisters and mother Kris Jenner post their birthday greetings and then stunned her with a nearly six-minute film featuring images of Kim growing up.

It marked Kanye's return to Twitter after Kardashian was robbed at gunpoint in Paris, France earlier this month (Oct16).

He simply captioned the footage: "Happy Birthday babe."

The soundtrack to the video, which featured footage of Kim with her late father Robert Kardashian, was Kanye's song Only One - Kim's favourite track.

The video ends with Kim filming her dad in 1992 as he attempts to show his daughter how to use her first video camera.

Earlier in the day, Kris Jenner took to social media to mark her daughter's birthday, writing: "Happy Birthday to my precious Kimberly! @kimkardashian I love and adore you... you have brought so much joy into all of our lives and you are the most wonderful daughter, wife, sister, friend and mom.

"I thank God every day he blessed me with you and I cherish every single moment and memory. My heart is full of gratitude and I love you more than you will ever imagine or know."

Kim is currently at home in Los Angeles recovering from her robbery ordeal in France on 3 October (16). She has yet to comment on the incident. The reality TV star's hit show Keeping Up With the Kardashians has been put on hold to allow her time to bounce back from the incident and she has scrapped a series of appearances and commitments.
