Pop icon Cher has warned fans her upcoming shows in Las Vegas may be her last.
The 70-year-old music legend will be taking over the Park Theater at Sin City's Monte Carlo casino and The Theater at the MGM National Harbor in Maryland resort next year (17) for a double residency deal, which will feature all of her biggest hits.
At the time of Tuesday's (18Oct16) announcement, Cher released a statement which read: "I plan to make this my best show ever. I am extremely excited about both of these new theaters - they are state-of-the-art and beautiful."
Now, in a new interview on U.S. breakfast show Today, the Believe hitmaker, who last toured in 2014 on the Dressed to Kill trek, admits she grabbed the opportunity to return to the stage because it was "now or never".
"I didn't wanna be finished, I didn't wanna be through with singing, and I knew that this will probably be the last time," she told NBC correspondent Maria Shriver. "My voice is still really good, I'm still active and running around, I can still fit in my costumes, so I thought this is probably it, it's now or never."
The superstar, who marked her age milestone in May (16), reveals she will need to rehearse more for her 2017 live dates than ever before, explaining, "The older you are, the harder it gets."
However, Cher still loves the thrill of performing for her fans.
"It's kind of therapeutic, what I do onstage," she continued. "I think when you can take people's mind off of everything, you give them this respite from the world and their problems and everything that's going on, it has this lingering effect."
During the candid interview, Cher also confessed she is not her own biggest fan, as she is "never satisfied" with herself.
"I've never really been in love with Cher, she's alright, but it's like, I'm not a huge fan...," she shared.
