Rapper Nicki Minaj has denied blasting presidential candidate Donald Trump's wife Melania during a rap at a concert on Saturday night (15Oct16).

The Super Bass star appeared at the Tidal X: 1015 fundraising concert in Brooklyn, New York on Saturday and during one expletive-ridden rap she seemed to suggest Melania, the wife of the Republican candidate, doesn't compare to first ladies such as U.S. President Barack Obama's wife Michelle and Hillary Clinton, Democratic presidential candidate and previous First Lady to husband Bill.

“Cause you n**gas are so f**king weak, ya’ll got the audacity to be intimidated by a bad motherf**king queen and get your motherf**king feelings hurt,” she rapped. “But it’s O motherf**king K, ’cause Barack needed a Michelle, b**ch, and Bill needed a motherf**king Hillary, b**ch. You better pray to God you don’t get stuck with a motherf**king Melania.”

After footage of the video was shared on Twitter and one user told she was "dragging" on Melania, Nicki claimed she wasn't being mean.

“Wasn’t ‘dragging’. She seems nice," she replied. "But a smart man knows he needs a certain ‘kind’ of woman when running for President/attempting greatness.”

Beyonce, Alicia Keys, Lauryn Hill, Robin Thicke, Common, and T.I. also appeared at the gig, which raised funds for the Robin Hood Foundation.

Nicki met the former Fugees star, her idol, for the first time backstage and she was overcome with emotion. An Instagram video shows Nicki grabbing both of Lauryn's hands while down on her knees and repeatedly saying "no" and "please". She bows down at Lauryn's feet as the singer laughs and grabs her back to get her up. Nicki says, "I'm in love with you. Your spirit. Your mind. Everything about you," as she gives her an affectionate hug.

In the caption, Nicki wrote, "Excuse me while I have an outer body experience. Shaking, crying, a MESS!!!! this lady is the reason. Omg (oh my God). The QUEEN. Goddess! The epitome! The bar! The *faints*. Ms Lauryn Hill told me to keep 'spittin dat fire'. Is this real life!????"
