Katy Perry has become committed to helping children after watching her sister give birth.

The Roar hitmaker was in the delivery room for the births of both of her sister Angela Hudson's babies in 2014 and last month (Sep16).

"Helped deliver my sister's baby at 2pm & am in the studio by 8pm," she wrote on Twitter in September (16). "GET A GIRL THAT CAN DO BOTH."

The singer also documented her joy at becoming an aunt and being there to witness the delivery in 2014, writing, "Finally you can add 'helps delivers babies in living rooms' to my resume! It's been a miracle of a day... Auntie Katy aka Stylist Auntie."

And now she's a proud aunt, she knows how important it is to ensure kids receive proper care - and she is working to bring music therapy to sick children.

"I see the amazing thing of birth and children and the vulnerability and we just have to take care of them and how, how big of an impression we have," she told E! News at the Children's Hospital Los Angeles Once Upon a Time Gala on Saturday (15Oct16). "We have such a responsibility!"

"Children to me are becoming a big focus," she continued. "I don't even have mine but I see it in my sister's kids and just how much nurturing and love they need..."

Katy, who was previously married to funnyman Russell Brand, has been dating actor Orlando Bloom, who has a son with his model ex-wife Miranda Kerr, since January (16).

"I would love to have children. I think that's one of the reasons you get married," she told U.S. TV host Ellen DeGeneres in 2011. "Especially to the person that you marry. You think, that person is going to be a good partner, a good parent."
