Jon Bon Jovi chooses not to live in “phoney” Hollywood, and makes his home in New York instead.

The veteran singer has enjoyed more than three decades in the spotlight as the frontman of rock band Bon Jovi. He’s also had success with solo records and acting work, but says the fame game doesn’t interest him away from work.

Rather than living in the Los Angeles showbiz bubble, he and wife of 27 years Dorothea choose to reside in New York, not far from his home state New Jersey.

“We live in New York, we don’t live in Hollywood. We are just not a part of that,” he explained to British newspaper Metro, adding he likes to live as normally as possible. “Not real real, but a lot more real than the phoney Hollywood horses**t – that really is not me.”

The 54-year-old took to the stage at the iconic London Palladium theatre on Monday night (10Oct16), as part of his intimate tour for Bon Jovi’s new album This House is Not for Sale, their 14th offering.

The band will next be heading to the Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Toronto on 17 October before finishing at New York’s Barrymore Theatre three days later. They're also playing at bigger venues around America until Match 2017.

Taking to Twitter last week (ends09Oct16), Jon shared a message with his fans.

“This weekend at the Count Basie Theatre in New Jersey, we performed the album live for the first time. What we felt on that stage, and the response across the board, has now left no doubt it’s time to take this house on the road,” he shared. “I thank you. Thanks for continuing this journey with us. I really do look forward to seeing you out there.”
